About 100 people die of lung cancer every day in the UK

Whilst smoking is the main cause of lung cancer, 13,000 cases are diagnosed every year in the UK which are NOT caused by smoking

About 4% of lung cancer patients have the ALK mutation but the mutation is present in about 30% of young non-smoking patients

4 in 10 lung cancer patients are diagnosed in A & E

Whilst lung cancer rates are falling, cases of young non-smoking women are on the increase

The number of people dying of lung cancer is twice the number dying of bowel cancer and three times the number dying of breast and prostate cancer

 

About 46,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer every year in the UK
