Meet Our Honorary Clinical Advisors
The Brenda Cobb Hardship Fund
A survey of our members showed that 1 in 5 experiences severe financial hardship as a result of their diagnosis.
The Brenda Cobb Hardship Fund was set up by Callum Cobb in memory of his mother. It awards grants that benefit the patient or their family.
The fund is administered by Callum, two charity trustees, a patient and a carer.
Our Medical & Scientific Advisory Panel
The panel of practising healthcare professionals, comprises
-
A consultant thoracic oncologist in Wales who is also the lead for one of the UK’s Genomic Hubs
-
A consultant thoracic oncologist at a NW hospital
-
An anaesthesia and pain consultant at a London hospital who is also an ALK+ patient
-
Two consultant thoracic oncologist at London Hospitals
-
A clinical senior lecturer in Psychosocial Oncology at a university in the NE
-
A senior oncology pharmacist at a London hospital

An intensive care doctor
The panel advises the Board in confidence and does not provide advice directly to patients.
Depending on the subject, we may ask all panel members to comment or just one or two. We also ask panel members to comment on documents/papers that the charity is proposing to publish. The panel provides advice on relevant clinical trials. We carry out surveys of our members from time to time and the panel advises on the wording of the questions.
The Charity has been awarded PIF Tick accreditation as a trusted provided of health information and the panel ensures that everything we publish is accurate and evidence-based.
